[Kuwait, 2 April 2024] Award-winning telecommunications leader, Ooredoo Kuwait, joyfully reintroduced its social and cultural Ramadan initiative for Kuwaiti youth this year - hosting its weekly traditional Kuwaiti card games, A.K.A " Ganjifa" playoffs at its headquarters building throughout the holy month.
As part of its ongoing social commitment, this Ramadan initiative by Ooredoo primarily aimed to inspire a sense of national pride and spotlight remnants of Kuwait's cultural heritage among the youth, while fostering positive communication among youth, as well as encouraging competitiveness with sportsmanship spirit.
Brimmed with youthful energy, camaraderie, and sportsmanship, exemplifying Kuwaiti spirit at its best, the tournament saw twenty teams competing in exciting traditional Kuwait card games each week, notably in "Hand" doubles and "Kout bo Sitta" playoffs.
Each week, top achievers in Ooredoo’s Ramadan “Ganjifa” Games received impressive rewards. Securing first position earned participants new iPhone 15 devices, while second-place winners walked away with two Samsung Galaxy S24 devices. Moreover, those claiming third place were rewarded with a collection of Samsung gadgets.
Back by popular demand, Ooredoo’s second season of “Ganjifa” Games for youth kicked off this year at the beginning of the holy month, after the games garnered significant interest from Ooredoo's audience last year, and the tournament achieved remarkable success in 2023 among the Kuwaiti youth community passionate about Ganjifa.
This was evident in the swift filling of available slots as soon as registration opened to invite participants to the weekly game.
In line with its ongoing commitment, Ooredoo Kuwait has reaffirmed its dedication to social initiatives aimed at fostering national pride and preserving Kuwait's rich cultural heritage, particularly among the youth, while fostering unity and social cohesion.
Moreover, this yearly competition underscores Ooredoo's unwavering commitment to its leading corporate social responsibility strategy. By investing in the youth segment and paying attention to the finer details that ignite their interest and passion, Ooredoo aims to create avenues for connection and collaboration, cultivating environments that inspire creativity, competition, and excellence.
