Ooredoo graduates more than 80 empowered women from Springboard Programme

Ooredoo recently graduated 87 women working at various Ministries and government authorities from the world-renowned Springboard programme. The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency, Sayyed Salim bin Musalam Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of Civil Service of Administrative Development affairs, and attended by Ooredoo CEO Greg Young and several Ooredoo family members. The programme, run by Ooredoo in collaboration with the British Council, is designed to empower Oman’s female workforce and enhance their skill-sets and confidence to develop in their careers.
“At Ooredoo, we look for opportunities to spur growth and empowerment in professional women. The Springboard programme encourages development and fulfills our goal of building and nurturing the capabilities of women to achieve rewarding careers,” said Raed Dawood, Director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo. “The success of this initiative has been overwhelming. A total of 87 females from different Ministries from across Oman have been trained and now enjoy greater potential, enhanced skill-sets, and the confidence to achieve their career objectives as well as personal success.”
This milestone graduation was a result of 22 Memoranda of Understanding signed by Ooredoo and governmental organisations to bring women from multiple sectors together for a holistic developmental programme. Trainees were divided into five groups and taught essential skills such as prioritisation, assertiveness, goal setting, health improvement, stress management and communication skills alongside training in public speaking, self-awareness, self-management, and self-empowerment. Additionally, groups were further divided into two teams, each given the goal of delivering a project, with the top three honored at the graduation ceremony.
To date, the Springboard programme has successfully trained 175,000 women in 22 countries and been translated into 12 languages. To find out more about Ooredoo’s Springboard programme, you can contact Ooredoo or the British Council in Oman.
