Ooredoo Empowers Women in the Wilayat of Bidiyah

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Ooredoo Goodwill, the communications’ provider continues to empower Omani women by helping them develop competences and skills, which they can use to reach their full potential. Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mahmoud bin Abdullah Al-Saidi, the Wali of Bidiyah, Ooredoo recently launched new sustainable women’s incubator workshops dedicated to women in Bidiyah, in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate. The format of the workshops will be designed to train more than one hundred female participants with skillsets related to sewing and, saponification, as well as resin crafts for this year.
Ooredoo launched the award-winning and first-ever Omani women’s incubator programme in 2015 to support women entrepreneurs in honing their skills and start or further grow economically viable businesses. With the latest edition of the women’s incubator in Bidiyah Ooredoo has now 23 active incubators across a variety of wilayats and has trained over 10,000 graduates from different incubators across a variety of wilayats in Oman.
Dedicated to Omani women, the incubators are part of Ooredoo’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, which includes a number of award-winning initiatives. By placing itself at the heart of the community, the company aims to support the advancement of the people of Oman, while promoting sustainable socio-economic growth.
