Striving to make a difference and champion human growth and development, Ooredoo donated 20 hearing aid devices to children at the Oman Association for the Hearing Impaired. The contribution will provide the children with long-term support overcoming the unique challenges and learning barriers they face at school and at home.

Raed Dawood, Director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo, said, “The loss of hearing is devastating for any individual, let alone a child. When they should be enjoying life at school and within the home, many are experiencing great difficulty communicating with others. As they grow older, many deaf children find it very difficult to gain the skills and opportunities required to fulfill their personal and professional aspirations.”

He added, “Every child deserves the best start in life and every opportunity to be empowered members of society. With the right support, deaf children can achieve just as much as their hearing peers. Our contribution was guided by that belief and our dedication that no deaf child be left behind. Through these hearing aids, we are aimingto transform the lives of 20 children by fostering their social and educational development.”

Sultan bin Nasser Al Amri, Chairman of the Oman Association for the Hearing Impaired, said, “There is a need to raise awareness regarding the difficulties deaf children face in their daily lives, which in turn prevents them from being understood and given the opportunities they deserve. However, thanks to Ooredoo’s support, 20 more children have been given the gift of sound and have a chance to become more independent learners and gain skills they can use to realise their full potential.”

Ooredoo is an integral member of Omani society, placing the communities they serve at the heart of every aspect of their operations.
