Ooredoo Continues to Empower Female Entrepreneurs with Third Online Women’s Incubator Forum
Launched in 2015, the women’s incubator programme is the first of its kind in the Sultanate, part of a number of award-winning initiatives Ooredoo delivers through its CSR scheme, Goodwill.
Highlights
The highlight of the latest forum was the contribution of Ooredoo family members and other motivational speakers.

Ticking off another event in its busy corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, Ooredoo recently held its third online women’s incubator session. More than 45 women from all over the country joined the event, part of a series the telecoms company launched for Omani Women’s Day. Specifically designed to guide female-led start-ups to navigate digital technology in order to sustain and improve their businesses, the sessions are one of a number of ways Ooredoo is driving women’s empowerment while supporting the Sultanate’s digital transformation.

Raed Mohammed Dawood, Director of Branding, Communications and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo, said, “Ooredoo places itself at the heart of the community, and as such we aim to support the advancement of the Omani people. Our women’s incubators aim to help the increasing number of budding female entrepreneurs, ensuring that they start off on the right foot and with the right tools and skills to grow. Through them, we support and mentor women who we know can go on to make great changes in their families, communities and wider society.”

The highlight of the latest forum was the contribution of Ooredoo family members and other motivational speakers. Program Manager for Procurement at Ooredoo and certified Project Management Professional, Zahra Al Balushi, led a session on Project Management. Furthermore, businesswomen Attya Al Yahmdi, herself a previous participant of the women’s incubator programme, and Sukaina Al Lawati, CEO and founder of events management agency, SUZA, joined to share their own success stories.

Launched in 2015, the women’s incubator programme is the first of its kind in the Sultanate, part of a number of award-winning initiatives Ooredoo delivers through its CSR scheme, Goodwill. With a total of 17 incubators set up across the country to date, these hubs of learning help women gain vocational skills in areas such as information technology, beauty, cooking, sewing and handicrafts. Look out for more exciting workshops coming soon.
