Ooredoo Brings Learning to Life with School Kit to Promote Sustainable Thinking in Classrooms, in collaboration with ONCECS

In a meaningful step towards nurturing future generations, Ooredoo has introduced its latest community initiative, the Mobile Puppet Theatre, as part of the ’School Kit for Sustainable Development’ initiative, in collaboration with the Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science (ONCESC).
Under the patronage of H.E. Majid bin Said Al Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs, the project was designed to support children aged 3 to 6 across 20 public schools in Muscat Governorate.
Khawla Al Amri, Chief People Officer at Ooredoo, said, “While the world continues to embrace digital transformation, some studies warn against the overexposure of young children to screens and devices. In these formative years, it is essential to nurture children’s sensory, visual, auditory, and motor skills to inspire curiosity, build communication, and reduce screen time. The Mobile Puppet Theatre provides an imaginative alternative, a gateway into a world of values and knowledge through interactive storytelling. The four original tales promote sustainability in an engaging and age-appropriate way, tailored for children between 3 and 6 years old, a critical stage where lifelong habits and skills are formed.”
Dr. Mahmood bin Abdullah Al Abri, Secretary-General of the Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, stated: “We are pleased to extend our sincere thanks to Ooredoo for its valuable support of this project and its belief in the importance of public-private partnerships in advancing education in alignment with the national vision to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The ‘Mobile Puppet Theater’ is not merely a recreational activity — it is a comprehensive educational platform that contributes to realising Oman Vision 2040, which emphasises ‘The Individual and Society’ and focuses on building a conscious, educated, and innovative generation, proud of its national identity."
Reflecting Ooredoo’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive education, the initiative caters to various learning styles: visual, auditory, and hands-on, encouraging creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking in the classroom.
In line with Oman Vision 2040 and the National Strategy for Education 2040, the initiative supports the development of a progressive education ecosystem, helping students strengthen their awareness of environmental issues and equipping them to shape a more sustainable future.
