Ooredoo to Be Official Telecoms Partner for Ministry of Education Under 14 Football League

Ooredoo has teamed up with Sabco Sports as the official telecoms partner for the Ministry of Education Under 14 Football League for the 2019-20 season.

As part of its commitment to giving more to communities across Oman, Ooredoo has teamed up with Sabco Sports as the official telecoms partner for the Ministry of Education Under 14 Football League for the 2019-20 season. In preparation for the tournament, registration will begin in August for the exciting kick-off in October 2019.

“We at, Sabco Sports, are very proud to be signing this agreement with Ooredoo, one of the leading telecommunications companies in the Sultanate.” Said Khalid Bin Hamad Bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Chairman of Sabco Sports. He added, “The agreement will enable Sabco Sports and its partners particularly the Ministry of Sports Affairs and the Oman School Football Association to enhance the sports scene in the country. I would like to thank the team at Sabco Sports for their continuous commitment and Ooredoo for their unwavering support to the game that brings communities and youth together.”

Raed Mohammed Dawood, Director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity to nurture young people’s talent in the Sultanate in a fun and hands-on way. Ooredoo is an integral member of the Omani society, placing ‘family’ at the centre of every aspect of its operation and this football league is just one of many examples. Together with our partners, we are looking forward to seeing the teams out on the fields.”

Nic Cartwright, Managing Director of Sabco Sports, said “Ooredoo has a great history of working with the children of Oman, and has some great initiatives planned to help raise the profile of the league. We are looking forward to seeing the goals and the best players all over social media once the league kicks off.”

Football enthusiasts from all parts of the Sultanate will be able to participate and compete against different teams as fixtures take place throughout the academic year. The winning teams from 11 regions will take part in the finals in Muscat in March 2020 to compete for the champion title.
