Ooredoo’s Springboard and Spring Forward Graduates Bring Digital Ideas to Life
Part of its efforts to nurture Omani talent and promote digital entrepreneurship, Ooredoo is celebrating the latest wave of graduates from its popular Springboard and Spring Forward programmes. 105 graduates in total from different government entities completed the three-month-long leadership development modules. Focusing specifically on women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship, the Springboard programme for women has now completed its tenth wave. Spring Forward, open to both men and women has completed its fifth wave. This year saw 18 projects showcased, focusing on bringing digital ideas to life.
The graduation ceremony saw six projects, three from each module, recognised, in addition to a People’s Choice award, conducted through social media. This year a new category was also introduced, for “Best Performing Team”, created to encourage team work amongst the participants.
“The Springboard and Spring Forward projects are going from strength to strength every year and we’re so proud to see all of our graduates thrive in an empowering environment and live up to their full potential,” said Ian Dench, Chief Executive Officer at Ooredoo. “The programme fulfils both our commitment to developing the digital leaders of the future and also our contribution to making Oman a digitally-led, knowledge-based society.”
Over the years the Springboard and Spring Forward programmes have become a benchmark for successful public-private sector collaboration. This year, the programmes were run in collaboration with business partners including Oman Publishing House and the Ministry of Tourism. To date they Ooredoo has provided 1,800 women and men of all ages, interests, social status and career paths, the opportunity to enhance their skillsets, as they work closely with industry leaders and licensed trainers to pursue their development and growth.
Focused on always giving back to the community, the programmes fall under Ooredoo’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Goodwill umbrella and are run by Ayesha Al Shoily; a fully licenced trainer for over 10 years for both programmes. This session has seen training take place in several regions across Oman. Look out for further news and updates on Springboard and Spring Forward on www.ooredoo.om
