True to its commitment to support local communities across the Sultanate, Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) sponsored the third annual November 18th  Football Championship which recently concluded at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bowsher. Organized in celebration of the 45th National Day, more than 16 teams from all over Oman faced off against one another in the tournament, which for the first time welcomed competitors from the private sector. The weeklong contest drew to a close with The Palestinian Community team defeating Bank Sohar in the final round.

Omanoil’s support for the tournament falls in line with its strategy of caring beyond the pump. Throughout the years, the company has demonstrated that commitment through a number of footballing initiatives and activities that have helped the brand earn its place in the hearts and minds of people in Oman. These initiatives include sponsoring the 2015 edition of the King’s Tournament in Muscat, establishing a dedicated omanoil Football School, and the omanoil Football Tournament for Muscat Schools, which was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
