Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) is celebrating a milestone of 15 years without Lost Time Injury (LTI) at its Lubricants Stores Yard in Mina Al Fahal. This achievement, along with accomplishing 20 years without LTI at its Mina Al Fahal Terminal, pays tribute to omanoil’s promise to not only maintain, but raise industry benchmarks for Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE).

Commenting on this momentous anniversary, Faisal Al Shanfari, omanoil General Manager of HR, Admin, Corporate Services, Procurement and HSSE said, “Our people passionately take safety measures into their own hands to go beyond HSSE standards. We celebrate these milestones in their honor and pledge to continue to operate with accountability and vigilance.”

He added, “The nature of the Stores Yard’s increasing movement of people and vehicles handling precarious lubricants creates an ever present risk. Dependable people who follow calculated and constantly advanced safety systems have been paramount to avoiding LTIs for over a decade. We must also thank our contractors for advocating safe practices alongside us.”

HSSE is practiced holistically throughout omanoil’s operations both internally and externally, and tailor-made programs foster a comprehensive culture of safety. Internal audits, monthly meetings and the appointment of HSSE Champions instill the concept of safe practices, while mandatory staff and contractor induction programs are regularly updated to include company and industry improvements.
