Omanoil pilots first of its kind Automatic Toilet in Muscat to enhance services for motorists and local communities

Oman Oil Marketing Company, omanoil, has introduced the country’s first of its kind Automated Toilet at its Burj Al Sahwa filling station, in association with Nakheel Al Shamal International, in a bid to advance Oman’s public hygiene facilities. The European-based company P.T. Matic S.P.A. has designed and produced the automatic public toilets and the pilot pioneered by omanoil seeks to offer greater convenience and comfort for motorists and tourists with innovative and practical solutions to enhance its services for local communities.
“This project is set to redefine Oman’s fuel retail station offer in respect to communal hygiene facilities with internationally recognized technology and omanoil staples of convenience and practicality,” said Mohammed Ali Al Jarjary, Business Development Manager. “We have introduced a trial period of six months during which we will engage the community through open dialogues to collect feedback, ideas and suggestions. This will then be used as a foundation on which we build a sustainable plan to roll out Auto-Toilets at select sites across the Sultanate based on needs.”
For a nominal charge of 50 baisas, customers can use the air-conditioned and self-cleaning unit that is equipped with the latest fully automated technology for performance of the highest hygiene standards. The unit features support rails that make it disabled-accessible, in addition to a baby changing facility to accommodate the needs of families travelling with children. omanoil’s commitment to ecological sustainability is demonstrated with environmentally-friendly disinfectants and water-saving systems that monitor and control wastage. Furthermore, the skylight dome offers the customer’s added comfort and relaxation.
