To celebrate the 44th National Day, Ooredoo chose to unveil the Omani flag in style. Dubbed Oman’s ‘spiderman’ for his daring ventures, Ahmed Ghawas abseiled down the Muscat Grand Mall building from the Ooredoo sign, giving customers a spectacular show as the flag cascaded down the building.

The flag, measuring 40m by 3m is part of Ooredoo’s commemoration of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos’ inspiring 44 years of reign and their way of reflecting the pride and spirit of the country on this exciting and special day.

Several volunteers from the company also went out to local schools and other organisations across the Sultanate to distribute over 44,000 flags and Oman scarves to children, to share in the fun and celebrations.

Ooredoo also unveiled a huge artistic collage of His Majesty at their billboard in Qurum, the largest in Oman. The collage, which can be viewed online and zoomed in to view individual pictures, resulted from their successful social media campaign, inviting people to submit selfies using the hashtag #OurOman.
