Nissan rolls out all-new turbocharged powertrain in the region

Nissan has introduced an all-new 1.0-liter turbocharged engine across the Middle East, giving customers spirited performance, smooth drivability, and impressive efficiency. Inaugurated in the region on the all-new Nissan Magnite, the new powertrain delivers 99 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque, with efficiency of up to 17.3 km/l.

Under the Magnite’s hood, the new engine utilizes mirror bore cylinder coating technology derived from high-performance sports cars, helping reduce internal friction, improve heat management, and enhance combustion for smooth power delivery and efficiency. This is supported by a refined CVT transmission and Nissan’s Eco Scoring and Eco Coaching, which provides drivers with real-time feedback to get the most from every tank.

Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President, President – Middle East, KSA, CIS, Nissan and INFINITI, said: “The debut of our new turbocharged powertrain on the Magnite reflects Nissan’s commitment to delivering innovation that directly benefits drivers. This engine elevates everyday driving by combining responsive acceleration, smooth handling, and greater efficiency, making city commutes and weekend getaways equally enjoyable. It’s a powertrain that gives customers confidence, comfort, and a dynamic driving experience in a compact SUV designed for this region.”

Merging performance and comfort, the new Magnite with its well composed ride and turbocharged engine delivers smooth acceleration for quick lane changes and steady progress in traffic. Driving confidence is reinforced through technologies such as Vehicle Dynamic Control, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, and ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, ensuring stability on rough roads and during sudden maneuvers. To ease driver workload and help prevent inadvertent speeding, an adjustable speed limiter works alongside cruise control to cap the vehicle at a chosen speed.

The Magnite’s compact footprint and light, direct steering makes tight turns and narrow lanes easy to navigate. Features like the 360° Around View Monitor and parking sensors support precise positioning in confined spaces. Elevated seating provides a Clear View Driving Position with a 35.4° forward field of vision to aid visibility in all conditions, creating a more engaging and secure driving experience.

A bold exterior with signature honeycomb detailing gives the Magnite a confident stance, while an ergonomic cabin keeps key information clear and within easy reach. The 7-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display presents key data at a glance, including drive computer readouts and fuel history. With cruise control status and shift position indicators presented clearly, the interface keeps the focus on the road and makes essential information easy to read.

The Magnite’s quiet cabin complements the new turbocharged performance with comfort and connectivity. Wireless smartphone integration through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay enhance the journey, while the air conditioning system with PlasmaCluster Ionizer enhances the air quality and maintains a refreshing environment by removing up to 99% of bacteria, airborne mold, and allergens. Additionally, a cooled glove compartment keeps refreshments at a pleasant temperature in hot weather, and multi-color ambient lighting lets occupants set the cabin mood without distraction.

The all-new Nissan Magnite with its turbocharged 1.0-liter engine, offered in S, SV, and SL variants, is now available through Nissan’s partner network across the UAE and wider Middle East. Customers can tailor their vehicle with a broad palette that includes five dual-tone and seven monotone exterior color options, allowing them to match the Magnite to their personal style.
