NBO Celebrates ‘Bring Your Kids to Work’ Day

Giving children a glimpse into the working world, the National Bank of Oman (NBO) hosted more than 100 children between the ages of 5-16 of the bank’s employees at its headquarters in Al Athaiba. An exciting step for many children, the half-day program allowed the kids to learn about the world of work and experienced a day in the life of an NBO employee.
Realizing that every person plays an important role in the success of an organization, the children were able to meet their parents’ colleagues and learn about the different contributions they make. The children also learnt about the various roles and activities carried out by the bank and were taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of the bank’s back office and support functions to learn about the innovations and processes that make customers’ banking experience seamless.
As the youngest members of the NBO family, these children are the next generation of Oman’s workforce. ‘Bring your kids to work’ day is a great way for the youth to see what their parents do as well as explore a variety of potential career opportunities. Exposing them to a work environment can help set them up for success in the future.
More than just a day at the office, the valuable experience allowed the children to envision their future career. For older ones, this enriching day opened a world for them outside of school life.
Inspiring the leaders of tomorrow, NBO continues to focus its efforts to excite the youth, encouraging them to meet their full potential. Last year, the bank held the Sultanate’s biggest ‘hackathon’, hosting over 300 students, start-ups and entrepreneurs across the country. The bank also collaborated with Golf Oman to teach students aged 4 to 18 the game of golf through a series of engaging workshops and lessons.
