National Bank of Oman Gifts Umrah Trips in Shahr IL Atta Campaign

To conclude its highly successful Ramadan and Eid campaign, Sharhr il Atta, National Bank of Oman (NBO) has surprised five members of the community with a fully paid Umrah trip for two. The gifts are the latest addition to the annual campaign focused on charitable initiatives during the holy month.
“Shahr il Atta has become a wonderful NBO tradition that is growing bigger year after year. We are always keen to promote endeavours that really get to the heart of our community,” said Sayyid Wasfi Jamshid Al Said, acting Chief Executive Officer at NBO. “Working to give something back is an integral part of the Bank’s values and while this particular campaign has come to a close, our commitment to our community welfare pursuits remains.”
Earlier in the month, NBO held a special Qaranqasho event alongside the Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children. Over 300 children with disabilities enjoyed competitions, face painting, henna, a bird petting corner, bouncy castles and more.
Phase one of the campaign included a bake sale organised and executed by volunteers from the Bank, the proceeds of which were donated to local charities. Phase two saw NBO staff package and deliver 1,200 food hampers to low-income families across Oman.
Shahr il Atta is part of NBO’s active corporate social responsibility programme, which has so far pledged almost OMR 324,000 towards various community outreach initiatives. Through education, youth development, training and employment, and entrepreneurship, the bank aims to contribute to the socio-economic advancement of the nation.
