National Bank of Oman (NBO) has been awarded the ‘Best Mobile Banking App Oman 2020’ by International Business Magazine for the second consecutive year.

Reaffirming its position as a digital leader in the Sultanate, National Bank of Oman (NBO) has been awarded the ‘Best Mobile Banking App Oman 2020’ by International Business Magazine for the second consecutive year. It’s the fourth award the bank has received for its pioneering mobile app, which provides customers with a variety of innovative banking services at their fingertips. As the core of the bank’s long-term strategic focus on innovation and digital transformation, the app continues to meet the demands of an ever-evolving world, while giving its customers the best online experience possible.

Abdul Karim Al Hinai, Deputy General Manager – Acting Chief Transformation Officer at NBO, said, “Mobile apps have become an increasingly vital part of our lives, even more so since the pandemic, helping us perform tasks that a few years ago we could only imagine doing in person. At NBO we have always had a strong focus on our digital capabilities and this is something that we are constantly growing and improving. Our app is frequently upgraded and enhanced with a wide range of useful and user-friendly functions, as well as tie-ups and offers to make it even more beneficial and enjoyable for our growing customer base. This award is a welcome testament that we are on the right path, yet our journey to be ‘the bank of choice’ is not over.”

The International Business Magazine awards recognise best-in-class achievements in the international business and finance arena. This is the second year the bank has received the award, adding to its growing list of accolades which include the Best Mobile Banking App Oman by International Finance Banking in 2019, and the Best Mobile Banking App Oman by Oman Economic Review in 2018.

Developed in-house, NBO’s mobile app combines versatility, reliability, and convenience with a wide range of features including contactless payments as well as an international remittance service that allows customers to send funds to six different countries, 24/7, from their mobiles. Customers can also open additional accounts, pay utility and credit card bills, apply for products, and make local transfers. The scan & pay feature also allows payments to be made through QR payment enabled terminals located across the Sultanate to further decrease the need to utilise cash. Free to download and easy to use, its just one of the ways NBO is empowering its customers to take care of their finances and making their lives easier.
