National Bank of Fujairah highlights commitment to Emiratisation at Fujairah Career Fair

National Bank of Fujairah (NBF) PJSC reiterated its commitment to supporting the development of local talent through its participation at this week’s Fujairah Career Fair. Underscoring its focus on cultivating and training UAE Nationals for leadership roles at the bank and in supporting Fujairah’s long-term development, this is the fourth year that NBF has participated at the fair.

It builds on the bank’s presence at “Tawdheef 2015” in Abu Dhabi and “UAE Careers 2015” in Dubai earlier this year, where it has looked to provide opportunities for promising young Emiratis. As a part of this ongoing focus, the bank’s Emiratisation ratio stands at 40.59% today. At the same time, NBF has also sought to play a greater role in promoting Emirati women in the workforce, and indicative of its success, a third of its 15 branches are overseen by Emirati female managers.

Commenting on this commitment, one of NBF’s Regional Managers, the highest position held by an Emirati woman, Faiza Ahmed Al Shamsi, said that the bank has increasingly sought to recruit female UAE Nationals and empower its existing female staff. “Emirati women are a critical part of the country’s fabric and they have the potential to play a greater role in its development. NBF has aimed to provide them with mNBF Board member, Mr. Mohamed Obaid Bin Majid Al Aleeli, Abdulla Aleter, Head of Human Resources, and NBF staff at the Fujairah Career Fairore long-term growth opportunities through a range of training programmes.”

With platforms such as the Management Trainee Programme for fresh graduates and the Career Advancement programme for existing staff, NBF has sought to promote the sustainable development of its human capital.

Recently, the bank was highlighted in a research study released by global management consultancy Hay Group looking at employee engagement in the banking industry across the Gulf. The report revealed that NBF ranked amongst the top banks in the region in terms of staff satisfaction. This was achieved by engaging and enabling the bank’s employees through a combination of wellness, social and talent development initiatives.
