Mohamed Hefzy attends the Oscars as a member of the Academy for the first time

Hefzy was also honored as a Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres in France in recognition of his significant contributions to the Arab film scene.

Renowned screenwriter and producer Mohamed Hefzy is turning heads once more after his latest appearance at the 2023 Oscars as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on March 12th at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, adding one more accomplishment to his already well-decorated and illustrious career.

This is by no means Hefzy’s first time serving on a prestigious festival's committee; the award-winning producer has been part of the juries of the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and the 75th Venice International Film Festival. He also presided over four editions of the Cairo International Film Festival.

Moreover, aside from being an official member of the academy in the producers’ branch since 2019, Hefzy was also honored as a Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres in France in recognition of his significant contributions to the Arab film scene.
