Ministry of Heritage & Culture partners with Bank Nizwa to unveil commemorative monument celebrating Nizwa Islamic Culture Capital

Under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdallah Al Hinai, State Counsellor, the Ministry of Heritage of Culture partnered with Bank Nizwa to inaugurate a unique monument in the Wilayat of Nizwa in celebration of Nizwa Islamic Culture Capital. Built at the heart of the historic Nizwa souq, the dome-shaped memorial pays tribute to Oman’s ancient Islamic architecture and cultural heritage and coincides with the 46^th National Day celebrations across the Sultanate.

Dr Ashraf Al Nabhani, General Manager of Corporate Support at Bank Nizwa, said, “We are proud to present this monument to not only the people of Nizwa, but also, to the people of Oman to commemorate Nizwa as one of the most special Islamic culture capitals of all time. We are also celebrating nearly half a century of progress, peace, and prosperity of the Sultanate and this token is part of our efforts to show gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for inspiring us with His visionary leadership.
