Continuing its ongoing commitment to road safety and customer care, Mercedes-Benz Oman held its annual Field Force initiative in Salalah from 2nd to 6th April. As part of the Mercedes-Benz promise of ‘The Best or Nothing’, this years’ event was developed to optimise the smooth and efficient operation of Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Fleets.

“I am delighted to say that our Salalah Commercial Fleet Customers made the most of Field Force this year, engaging with our expert team of Service, Parts and Sales specialists to get the latest advice on best practice in maintenance and repair, signing up their vehicles for inspection and their technicians and drivers for advanced instruction,” said, Michael Heeke, Head of Service – Commercial Vehicles, ZTC.

He added: “In today’s time-pressured and cost-conscious environment, our Fleet Customers are more aware than ever of the important role proper repair, maintenance and driver training play in keeping down-time to a minimum and making sure their trucks do their job every day. It has been a pleasure to share Mercedes-Benz expertise with them, helping keep their fleets in fine form and giving them a sound basis for their operational planning.”

The Salalah Field Force Programme began with a Workshop Open Day for fleet operators which included a tour of the Mercedes-Benz Salalah Facilities as well as maintenance and repair briefings from Mercedes-Benz experts. In addition, training sessions led by a Daimler Certified Technical Trainer and Certified Driver were offered for workshop technicians and fleet drivers. The driving training included skills assessments and focused on road safety and techniques for fuel efficiency.

Field Force continued during the week with a series of complementary on-site Fleet Checks. They were conducted by the popular Mercedes-Benz Flying Doctor, and a team of trained technicians. These thorough truck inspections included visual checks, screening and diagnosis of technical condition, and detailed reports were provided to the fleet management. The specialist maintenance and repair team also shared repair advice and tips with fleet technicians. Both fleet drivers and technicians were given the opportunity to enhance their performance through additional instruction from the Mercedes-Benz professionals.

With a rigorous prioritisation of providing all customers with the very best customer experience, Mercedes-Benz Oman Commercial Vehicles offers its customers an unrivalled range of tailor-made and reliable transport solutions, local service and parts supply throughout the wide Mercedes-Benz network, as well as expert technical and driver support.
