Measuring and Managing Performance in the Public Sector by DMA attracts a considerable number of audiences

More than 200 participants took part in the knowledge management seminar organized by the office of knowledge management “Musharaka” at the Department of Municipal Affairs, entitled “Measuring and managing performance in the public sector“.

The event took place at the Municipal Theatre, Abu Dhabi Municipality, and presented by Professor Gary Cokins, Principle, Global Business Advisors with SAS, a leading provider of business intelligence and software headquartered in Cary, North Carolina.

The presentation highlighted ways to adopt enterprise performance management and focus on accountability for outputs and outcomes while measuring and managing performance in the public sector.  The presenter focused on how to get more efficiency, higher productivity and better customer relations and satisfaction in the public sector.

Customer satisfaction topic was illustrated further in a presentation by Yasir Al Naqbi, Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence Performance Manager at the General Secretariat of the Executive Council.  Al Naqbi elaborated on Abu Dhabi Government approach in being customer centric.  

The seminar was concluded with a construction discussion among participants who raised issues related to performance management in their respective fields.
