LoYAC Jordan celebrates the graduation of interns at Jordan Kuwait Bank

LoYAC Jordan recently celebrated the graduation ceremony of the students who completed their summer internships at the Jordan Kuwait Bank (JKB) during Darb program 2013. Darb is LoYAC’s main program, offering paid summer internships to university students for 6-8 weeks. Darb program is supported and funded by King Abdullah II Fund for Development.

During the ceremony 16 graduating students received certificates for completing 6 weeks of practical training at JKB, along with a memorable gift. Ten of the interns were trained at the main offices in Amman, five of whom were from Amman and five from different governorates.  In addition, 6 students were trained in different branches across the kingdom. Throughout the 6 week duration of the internship, the students were exposed to a professional work environment that relates to their field of study. LoYAC students expressed their gratitude for being given such an opportunity and showed a video that they prepared about the Darb program.

Ms. Noor Kayyal, HR director at JKB, commented: “JKB has been a partner and a supporter of the Darb program since its inception, with 2013 being its sixth consecutive year. We are extremely happy with this fruitful partnership that allows us to give back to our community”. She added that “we hired a number of interns in the past years, and we are glad to announce that we are planning to host more interns next year”.

At the ceremony, Mrs. Hiam Azar, Chairperson of LoYAC Jordan, conveyed her appreciation for JKB’s supporting stance with regards to the Darb program “JKB has been an effective and active sponsor for the Darb program since its initiation. We commend JKB’s efforts towards supporting youth and adding to their knowledge and experience. Furthermore, this year JKB has hosted a physically challenged intern illustrating the commitment of its corporate social responsibility strategy”. She thanked the Jordan Kuwait Bank‘s management and staff who contributed to the success of the program.

It is also worth noting that Jordan Kuwait Bank and LoYAC Jordan have launched two additional aspects to their partnership; the first was to host students with special needs, and the second to include interns from different governorates in the bank's main offices in Amman so as to provide equal opportunities for all.
