LG Electronics (LG) participated in InfoComm Middle East and Africa 2012 exhibition, showcasing its latest cutting edge products and solutions in the Digital Signage. The exhibition took place from the 14th to 18th of October 2012 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Sheikh Zaeed Hall.

Digital signage is a form of electronic display which is usually installed in public spaces (such as airports, quick service restaurants and retail stores) to deliver a certain message, usually utilizing LED or LCD. Digital signage platforms are equipped with interactive mirror, store, and fitting contents delivering to clients and consumers a more personalized and interactive means of brand visibility and messaging.

LG showcased their products related to digital signage with their most recent solutions; one of LG’s main focus areas in the B2B sphere. LG provides different solutions that cater to various segments meeting client’s needs providing new and innovative ways to target their consumers.

During the InfoComm LG clearly defined: “the 1st generation of signage was only distribution of information, but with no interactivity and engagement, but in the next generation of Digital signage introduced as new concepts and advertising solutions, there will be interactivity, social connections and fun features combined together with the advertisement message. Digital signage new solution and concept is a media platform transforming an interactive place into a lively breathing place through user participation and engagement.

The concept in LG stand was to showcase the latest its other cutting technology edge offerings, such as the Super Narrow Bezel Display ‘55W70’. This video wall exhibits the world’s slimmest bezel-to bezel size of 5.3mm, equipped with shine-out 800 nit Direct LED technologies and 100% color pixel Data. Low power consumption is another advantage of the ‘55W70’; this is achieved by the panels not using mercury or other harmful substances. It is also more eco-friendly than any of its competitors. The 55WV70 consumes less energy and Shines-Out as it’s a perfect fit for window displays and therefore is able to reflect sunlight allowing for superior image visibility and clearer display under direct sunlight than conventional panels.

A large portion of LG’s LED displays are equipped with IPS panels, which noticeably widen the optimal viewing angle, allowing customers to display their signage or multimedia content to audiences across a larger area without sacrificing color consistency or contrast ratio compared to VA panels with blurred image and color shift is two times of IPS. Low power consumption and minimized image distortion upon external pressure are some of IPS features which were explained during LG’S stand.

LG introduced the new Smart Mirror signage concept which is an interactive advertising platform that various fun elements react to user’s behavior. Smart screen is usable in the open air such as bus or shelter, and the active advertising screen provides users with surprising experience for having them to memorize brand much longer. The concept behind this is engaging the customers to the advertisement. Another cutting edge solution showcased was the Virtual Store; an imaginary shop where customers can navigate and purchase products as if they are being displayed in the show window, enabling immediate searching and purchase of products, removing the need for clients  to physically visit the stores.

“We are extremely proud to be at InfoComm MEA 2012, the exhibition gives our customers the chance to experience LG’s latest offerings in Digital Signage and various other products and solutions” said Mr. David Kim, Head of MEA B2B, LG Electronics, Middle East and Africa. “LG is committed to providing Middle East and African markets with cutting edge technology with innovative solutions”
