LG honors its runner Sulaiman Al Zboun for coming 2nd at Samsung Amman International Marathon 2011

LG Electronics has honored its runner Sulaiman Al Zuboun, the former LG Dead Sea Ultra Marathon 2011 champion, for his exceptional performance and second placement on a Jordanian level in the Samsung Amman International Marathon 2011, which took place last Friday, 28^th October. 

LG’s runner, Al Zboun, showed outstanding athletic talent during the Samsung Amman International Marathon, where he attained second placement on the Jordanian level upon running 42,195 km in 2.31.33 hrs; it is worth mentioning that LG had announced its sponsorship of Al Zboun in June of this year. 

LG Electronics Levant Managing Director, Mr. Kevin Cha, expressed his delight in this great achievement saying, “We are proud of the result achieved by LG’s runner and former LG Dead Sea Ultra Marathon 2011 champion. Moreover; we are glad to honor his great performance, which stems from immense Jordanian athletic talent – very well deserving of all the provided support en route to presenting more and more confident capacity in international competitions.”   

Cha further affirmed LG’s intent to carry on supporting the runner Sulaiman Al Zboun, both morally and financially, in appreciation of his constant superiority and impressive results locally and in the Arab world.

LG continuously works on encouraging talented, distinguished individuals across all sectors and specialties; its recognition of Al Zboun’s energy and athletic skills in Jordanian and international marathons paved the way for the company’s decision to support him at the beginning of last June, through offering financial sponsorship in the upcoming season for his participations and training, as well as for his promotion in the media locally and regionally. One of the most notable upcoming events is the Aqaba International Marathon 2011, which will be held on 2^nd December. 

It is worth mentioning that Sulaiman Al Zboun had demonstrated a marvelous performance during the 18^th LG Dead Sea Ultra Marathon, where he came first in the 50 km race. He also attained first place in the Aqaba Marathon 2010, the second place in the 2^nd Amman International Marathon 2010, and won the leading titles of all races and finals of the Half Marathon in the Kingdom, as well as the Ultra Marathon races since 2002 besides other titles.   

Al Zboun had numerous impressive international participations, most importantly: winning first place in the Red Sea International Marathon for the 42 km race in 2010; first place on an Arab level and seventh internationally in the Beirut International Marathon in 2007; the gold medal for the International Half Marathon Championship of Lebanon in 2006; the gold medal for the Beirut International Half Marathon in 2007; the gold medal in Syria’s Damascus International Marathon in 2007; Suleiman also participated in the 37^th  Cross Country World Championships Marathon in Amman-Jordan in 2009; and the 33^rd Cross Country World Championship,  France in 2005.
