Land Rover unveils Middle East prototype of Land Rover DC100 Defender concept at Dubai International Motor Show

Today at the Dubai International Motor Show, luxury British automotive manufacturer Land Rover revealed a prototype of the Land Rover DC100 Defender concept specially developed to suit the conditions of the Middle East. First unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011, the Land Rover DC100 Defender concept explores the potential future direction of the iconic Land Rover Defender, a vehicle which captures the adventurous, daring, indomitable spirit of Land Rover like no other.
“With its natural, rugged landscape, this region has some of the toughest unchartered terrain on the planet. We wanted to put the Defender concept to the challenge, pitting it against the deserts, mountains and wadis of the Middle East. The result is this stunning prototype vehicle which has been specially designed to suit the tastes and conditions of the region,” commented Robin Colgan, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover MENAP.
Created especially for the Dubai International Motor Show, the Land Rover DC100 Middle Eastern concept is the third Defender prototype created by Land Rover, which celebrates the capability and versatility of the vehicle that has been used by aid workers, explorers, ecologists the world over for more than six decades. Evolved since its unveiling in September, the DC100 Dubai edition now features off-road optimised 20-inch alloy wheels with Cooper all-terrain tyres, and is finished in a distinctive colour combination of Fuji White paint with a Santorini Black roof.
The DC100 will be on display at the Dubai International Motor Show from 10th until 14th November 2011. Also on display at the Land Rover stand is the long anticipated Range Rover Evoque, designed to bring the exclusivity of Range Rover to a brand new audience, alongside the 2012 Range Rover Sport, Range Rover, Land Rover LR4 and Land Rover LR2.
