As part of its “Knowledge Seminars” series, the Knowledge Group (TKG), the conferences, exhibitions, professional training and development arm of Abu Dhabi University, has successfully hosted a groundbreaking event focused on the critical components that make select UAE educational establishments “Outstanding”. Around 70 senior educational leaders, managers and school owners attended the seminar, which aimed to show “The Road to Outstanding” - learning from what “Outstanding” schools are doing right, and considering the challenges and issues that currently hold other schools back from achieving educational excellence. This is a key area for the UAE’s educators as schools work towards the ambitious goals of the UAE’s Vision 2021.

Attendees heard some of the ideas and experiences of leaders of top-ranking UAE schools - including Jonathan Hughes D’Aeth, Repton School Dubai Headmaster; Asa Firth, Headmaster of Jumeirah English Speaking School; and Dr. Jim Hardin, Superintendent/CEO of Dubai American Academy. This panel discussion was accompanied by addresses from TKG’s own Director of Business Development - Education, Mohamed Obaidat, and Director of Education, Dr. Nadeem Memon.

Dr. Memon’s speech revealed some of the critical findings from TKG’s seminal White Paper - “The Road to Outstanding (2017)”. This brand-new research investigates many of the key factors in attaining excellent standards of education within the UAE, and supports the creation of individual roadmaps for schools to reach an “Outstanding” rating through a structured process of development.

“Supporting the region’s education sector is a priority for us as a company, and we are very pleased to have welcomed so many senior educators to this important event. The panel discussion and networking certainly generated a good deal of ideas and talking points, and I am sure our guests have left with fresh insights into the topic. Our Knowledge Seminars are also a great way for us to support Abu Dhabi University’s celebrations of the UAE’s Year of Giving initiative, sharing our particular expertise and experience to benefit the wider community,” said Dr. Ahmad Badr, CEO of TKG.

TKG’s Knowledge Seminars have been a breakthrough ideas-sharing success in the region’s business and government communities. Each complimentary, invitation-only event plays host to an impressive roll-call of international speakers and industry experts, and focuses on areas of particular importance to the region. Past events have focused on topics such as BlessingWhite’s “Leader in 2025”, and the challenges involved in developing the next generation of educational leadership talent. The next Seminar, scheduled for February 28th 2017, will focus on Women in Leadership.
