Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, welcomed a delegation from "Watani" (my homeland) program at the Group's head office. The delegation included Darrar Hamid Belhoul, General Manager of "Watani" program, Fatima Khalifeh El Murr, senior coordinator of design and planning in the program. The meeting was attended by Mohammed Khalaf Al Habtoor, Vice Chairman and CEO of Al Habtoor Group, Mohammed Al Mazrooei, Managing Director, Abdul Salam Al Marzooqi, Director of community relations, and May Al Bouflasa, Community Relations officer.

Al Habtoor welcomed the officials in charge of "Watani" program praising its role especially in light of “the unfortunate developments that enjoin on us all to work together to enhance national values among youth and strongly confront all those who are trying to compromise our nation's security and stability”.

Darrar Belhoul noted that “the visit comes in the context of the support given by Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor to community activities through his adoption of a wide range of educational and cultural programs, and his contribution to the building of national institutions”. He also mentioned “Habtoor's important and obvious achievements at the national level, especially with the launch of his autobiography that relates the story of a successful Emirati figure who is a model and a source of inspiration for future generations”.

Belhoul explained that “"Watani" program aspires to protect the national gains from intellectual perversion, and to offer a national alternative capable of attracting Emirati youths in order to develop their skills and hone their talents, to help them become productive and effective individuals in the society capable of achievements that contribute to the enhancement of the Emirati identity”.

Belhoul added that “"Watani" program aims to rehabilitate and develop the talents of the youths and enhance their mental and physical capacities. The program will work in the next stage to promote the respect of the national identity and raise awareness about it among individuals, as well as to develop the sense of social responsibility and contribute to the community and to the promotion of good citizenship. It also seeks to discover, nurture and develop talents, and to encourage innovation and creativity in national production, as well as to motivate youth to engage in community volunteering”.

At the end of the meeting, Al Habtoor offered the General Manager of "Watani" program a copy of his book "Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor: The Autobiography" which was released last November.
