Jordan Ahli Bank is platinum sponsor of JOMEC

Jordan Ahli Bank has supported for the second consecutive year, the Jordan Model Economic Conference (JOMEC) as a platinum sponsor. The students' conference that brings young leaders from different parts of the world was held at the Marriot Dead Sea hotel from the 8th of February to the 11th.

During his opening speech at the JOMEC, Saad Mouasher, Deputy CEO/Head of Group Strategy and Corporate Communications at Jordan Ahli Bank, stressed at the importance of addressing issues of global economic development and the issues of human rights by the young leaders.

"We put a high degree of importance on preparing Jordanian youth for an active role as agents of positive change, particularly in matters related to economic development," commented Mouasher. "Thought exchange opportunities like this enable our youth to strengthen their knowledge base, acquire professional skills, and stimulate their intellectual capacities .Ahli Bank believes in the power of youth , and is proud to invest in their education."

The participants in JOMEC 2012 include students and professors from numerous schools and universities from a number of countries, including Italy, Egypt, Greece, Qatar, Turkey, and Jordan. The goal of the conference is to broaden the participants' knowledge by facilitating informed, directed discussion on the latest economic theories and the sharing experiences in the economic field. The conference was held in the same spirit as prominent global economic conferences such as those organized by the World Trade Organization and the World Economic Forum.

This year's event focuses on addressing human rights issues around the globe and the correlation between personal freedom and economic freedom. An additional topic was the role of businesses in creating the societal conditions for individuals to lead peaceful, productive, and dignified lives.

Mouasher emphasized Jordan Ahli Bank's commitment to supporting worthy initiatives that empower the Jordanian youth and create future economic experts. Jordan Ahli Bank also participated last year as platinum sponsor in JOMEC 2011, held at the National Orthodox School in Amman.
