Jazeera Airways Expands Egypt Connectivity with New Direct Flights to Aswan
Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low-cost carrier, has announced the launch of direct flights between Kuwait and Aswan, further expanding its network in Egypt and offering travelers greater choice and convenient access to one of the country’s most historic destinations.
Starting 25 October, Jazeera Airways will operate four weekly flights between Kuwait International Airport and Aswan International Airport.
H.E. the Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait, Mohamed Gaber Abul-Wafa, said:
“I am delighted to join Jazeera Airways in announcing its new route to Aswan, the airline’s ninth destination in Egypt. This expansion reflects the longstanding ties between Egypt and Kuwait and the importance of the Egyptian market to Jazeera Airways. I congratulate the team on this launch and commend its continued commitment to expanding across Egypt. The new route reflects the strong travel demand and close ties between our two nations. We also deeply appreciate the care and support extended by the State of Kuwait to the Egyptian community.
“Direct air links are about much more than travel; they are bridges that bring people and communities closer together while supporting tourism, trade, investment, and cultural and social exchange. Greater connectivity between Egypt and Kuwait will create new opportunities for cooperation across multiple sectors and further strengthen the longstanding social, economic and commercial ties between our two countries.”
He added:
“The launch of direct flights to Aswan is particularly significant. Aswan is not only one of Egypt’s most important cultural and tourism destinations, renowned for its rich history, unique archaeological heritage and stunning landscapes along the Nile, but also a key gateway to southern Egypt and an important economic and cultural hub with significant potential. This new route also has strong social importance, given the large Egyptian community living in Kuwait, including many residents from Aswan and across Upper Egypt. Direct flights between Kuwait and Aswan will provide them and their families with a more convenient travel option, saving time and making it easier to stay connected with their families and communities back home.”
Jazeera Airways currently serves eight destinations across Egypt, including Cairo, Sphinx, Alexandria, Assiut, Luxor, Sohag, Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada. The launch of Aswan, Jazeera’s ninth destination in the country, further strengthens the airline’s extensive presence in Egypt, one of its most important markets. The new route will provide a convenient direct connection for the large Egyptian community living and working in Kuwait, making it easier to visit family and friends while also supporting growing leisure travel between Kuwait and southern Egypt.
Barathan Pasupathi, Chief Executive Officer at Jazeera Airways, said:
“With over 690,000 Egyptians forming the second largest Arab community in Kuwait, Egypt has always been a key market for Jazeera Airways. Starting with Alexandria back in 2006, Jazeera currently serves eight cities in the country and today we are delighted to further expand our network to nine cities in Egypt with the launch of direct flights to Aswan. Our growing presence across the country reflects the strong demand we continue to see for affordable and convenient travel between Kuwait and Egypt.
He added:
“Aswan adds an exciting new destination to our network, providing an important direct connection for families and communities while also opening easier access to one of Egypt’s most distinctive tourism destinations.”
Located along the Nile in southern Egypt, Aswan is renowned for its rich history, Nubian heritage and spectacular landscapes. The city is also a gateway to some of Egypt’s most celebrated archaeological and cultural attractions, including the temples of Abu Simbel, Philae Temple and the surrounding Nubian villages.
With the addition of Aswan, Jazeera Airways continues to strengthen connectivity between Kuwait and Egypt, serving multiple destinations across the country and giving customers greater flexibility and choice when traveling for family visits, business or leisure.
Flights to Aswan will be available for booking via the Jazeera Airways website: jazeeraairways.com and mobile app.
