In an expression of appreciation and gratitude toward its hotels’ exceptional employees, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) in Jordan launched its Service Week celebration during May, 2017. An IHG initiative, Service Week is commemorated on a yearly basis in recognition of the outstanding level of service offered by IHG colleagues, and to thank all staff members for their dedication and hard work toward achieving hotel targets and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Throughout Service Week, colleagues engaged in various entertaining activities aiming to bring the spirit of IHG's core value, ‘Show We Care’, to life. Considered a significant initiative within IHG, the Week was established to create opportunities for colleagues to enjoy themselves, unwind among their coworkers and to share their talents and hobbies in the workplace.

Service Week kicked off with an opening ceremony at Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea, during which IHG Dead Sea Hotels – represented by Firas Irsheidat, Area General Manager for IHG Dead Sea Hotels, and Emmanuel Stavrakakis, General Manager of Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea – was honored to host Pascal Gauvin, IHG Chief Operating Officer for India, Middle East and Africa. The ceremony was also attended by several leading IHG figures, including Michael Koth, Director of Operations, Levant and General Manager of Hotel InterContinental Jordan , Oussama Massoud, Regional General Manager for IHG Jordan Hotels and General Manager of Crowne Plaza Amman Hotel, Mazen Abu Sakha, General Manager of InterContinental Aqaba Resort, Ayman Rasheed, General Manager of Holiday Inn Amman Hotel and  Mohammad Al Falahat, Executive Assistant Manager of Crowne Plaza Resort Petra as well as the management teams of IHG Jordan Hotels

The opening ceremony began with a grand welcome of IHG leaders, who were escorted to the Dead Sea beach area by a Jordanian band in a lively procession reminiscent of a Jordanian wedding. Later on, IHG leaders joined their colleagues by the infinity pool, where colleagues engaged in water sports, including water polo, a swimming competition and other recreational activities.
