InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts continues to build its incredible stories of the InterContinental Life, with the latest chapter from acclaimed Emirati poet Dr. Shihab M. Ghanem, who explores the fascinating and humble beginnings of Dubai in the UAE.

A Journey Through A Humble Beginning video, in both Arabic and English, gives people a fascinating perspective on the sensory inspiration that Dr. Ghanem found in the city’s original city centre surrounding the iconic Dubai Creek. An area filled with traditional Middle Eastern culture as told through the smell of the spices in the souqs and the sight of the classic architecture all juxtaposed with the modern buildings that tell the story of how quickly the city has evolved into the pearl of the Gulf.

Bruce Ryde, Head of Luxury & Lifestyle, Brand Marketing – Asia, Middle East and Africa, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) said; “We have been offering unique luxury experiences across the globe for over 70 years, and we wanted to celebrate some of the incredible cities and the inspiring stories that have shaped the character and personality of the destinations.

Our InterContinental Life content hub follows intriguing protagonists through video, illustrations and podcasts as they uncover some of the exciting things that make up the fabric of cities including Dubai, New York, London, Beijing and Berlin in order to reignite our guests’ passion for travel.”

Through the InterContinental Life portal, guests and travellers can discover different place and interact with the brand to be inspired to embark on a luxury trip to create their own stories. Inspiration comes in the form of pioneers, experts and artisans including Kathryn Sargant, the first female tailor to open a boutique along London’s famous Savile Row, Chef Martha Ortiz who will bring her celebrated Mexican cuisine to InterContinental Park Lane – London or Frank Senior, who takes people on guided tours through New York’s Central Park, but gives a totally unique perspective having been blind since birth.

Guest can also share their own inspiring stories of the InterContinental Life on social media using #INTERCONTINENTALLIFE with images being featured on the content hub as well as on the IHG site.

Across the Middle East there are 25 InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts open and an additional 9 properties due to open within the next three to five years.
