The infrastructure in the Emirate forms a strong base towards a promising future

In a Keynote opening address at the Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Congress 2011 which convened its activities yesterday at Yas island – Abu Dhabi, with the presence of high rank officials, executives and financial experts and economist, Dr. Abdullah Ghareeb Al Bloushi the Managing Director of the Municipal Affairs at the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) said this congress is very important to shed light on economic development and infrastructure projects and investment opportunities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, adding that despite the effect of the international financial crisis on the world economy and different areas in the middle east, the UAE economy in general and Abu Dhabi’s in particular has proved its strength and and its determination to continue on the path of growth and development especially when it comes to establishing a good infrastructure that supports  the economic development of the Emirate and enhances the quality of services been offered to the public and investors and visitors,  by the Municipal System and other Government sectors in the Emirate. Dr Al Bloushi added that, the Government is doing everything it can to establish a very strong and modern infrastructure which supports the development of the local economy, commenting that the current and future projects in infrastructure and in different sectors like energy, housing, bridges & roads, railways, airports, industry, renewable energy, tourism and culture open the door for investors to join the economic development the Emirate is witnessing, and attracts more investment to the local economy which enjoys a safe, stable and  prosperous environment.

Dr. Al Bloushi re-affirmed that the DMA in cooperation with the Emirate’s Three Municipalities, Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain City & Western Region and in coordination with other government entities and strategic partners in private sectors is doing everything possible to meet the Abu Dhabi 2030 vision which aims for the government of Abu Dhabi to become one of the best governments in the world in term of services offered to the public, investors and visitors, adding that the municipal system is playing very important role in laying down the supportive legislation and planning polices which pave the way for a solid infrastructure enhancing the economic growth of the local economy.

The Abu Dhabi Congress looked at as a pivotal meeting point for government and private sector stakeholders in the development of infrastructure for Abu Dhabi and provides a timely opportunity to share upcoming development plans and opportunities in the Emirate.
