Information Minister discusses the media sector at Capital Club’s inaugural ‘at The Majlis’ event

His Excellency the Minster of Information Affairs, Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi, launched the first in a series of high-profile speaker events organized by Capital Club Bahrain. Titled ‘At The Majlis’, these networking sessions aim to provide a unique platform for dialogue with key decision makers from the Kingdom of Bahrain and to promote open discussions on key social, economic and business issues.

During the event, Information Affairs Minister discussed the latest developments with regards to the media and communications sector in the Kingdom, while touching on the investment opportunities and sustainable economic development witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the prosperous reform era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

“The key to the successful development of the media sector in the Kingdom is to introduce a new media law, which will help us deregulate the media scene, attract regional and international players into the country and create a healthy environment, where the private sector can play a significant role in its development” continued His Excellency.

“We are also currently working on enhancing competences and performances through ameliorations and vocational training with the aim of sending across the message from Bahrain to reach the international community, reflecting the developments happening in the Kingdom” concluded His Excellency.  

Commenting on the ‘At The Majlis’ Event, Capital Cub Bahrain’s General Manager, Dina Haikel, stated “Our first event was a huge success and we are very thankful that His Excellency the Minister of Information Affairs was our inaugural guest and helped us launch this initiative. The Members thoroughly enjoyed this session. Our main aim is to position the Capital Club as the leading meeting point for business minds and provide a platform for our Members to network and meet, and we are confident that such high caliber events helps us achieve our mission”. 

The ‘At The Majlis’ event will be held on a monthly basis and will feature a number of key executives from both the government and private sector. The next session will be held in May and the event is open to Members and their guests.
