IBQ staff participate in QCB Sports Day Race

IBQ management and staff have actively participated in the Qatar Central Bank’s Sports Day Race which took place yesterday along Doha’s Corniche. The QCB Race brought together scores of personnel representing the various banking and financial institutions in Qatar actively celebrating the country’s very first National Sports Day. 

IBQ staff won top positions at the race bagging different prizes based on the respective categories they participated in, Kimberly Nicola and Czarina Corona Almero won the first positions in two different categories, Mr. Ian Hudson achieved the second, where Miss Nancy Khalil and Miss Rima Kanaan came among the top 10 runners. 

George Nasra, Managing Director of IBQ said: “We’re very happy to take part in the QCB Sports Day Race with a large number of participants and to join our peers in sending a very strong message on the significance of sports to the community in general. The 3-Km QCB Sports Day Race, organized in association with all banks in Doha including IBQ, kicked off at Al Bidaa Park with the finish line marking the QCB premises.

The country has left an indelible mark in the sporting industry having hosted some of the world’s mega championships in football, volleyball, basketball and the Olympics with the recent internationally-recognized Arab Games. 

Qatar has also played host to several world-class events bringing first-class sports teams together to battle it out in front of an audience that is eager and passionate for all that is sports and football in particular.
