IBQ sponsors Masters Cricket Tournament for 8th year running

International Bank of Qatar (ibq) is sponsoring the Master Cricket Tournament for the 8th year running, cementing the bank’s steadfast support to this sports event. The event kick-started on Friday January 18 at the Doha West Bay Cricket Complex, with presence of hundreds of fans, and will culminate with a grand finale on 15th March 2013 with the winning champion walking off with the Champion’s trophy and individual prizes for the 15 team players.

This year’s edition brought together 32 teams split into two divisions of 16 each with each division comprising of 4 pools represented by 4 teams. The teams get to play 3 league matches with the top 2 teams from each pool going into the Quarter-Finals scheduled for 1st March 2013.

The Crickets Masters has been organised by the Qatar Veterans Cricket League since 1988 with four Day Tournaments and one Night Floodlit Tournament annually. The Qatar Veterans Crickets League Organising Committee comprises 11 members who dedicate the time and effort, on an honorary basis, to see every season coming to a huge success.
