Huawei hosts Saudi ICT Leaders at Saudi 2013 Core Partners Convention

Huawei Tech. Investment Saudi Arabia, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, recently welcomed senior leaders from across the Saudi ICT sector to preview emerging technology solutions being adopted in the Kingdom during Huawei’s Saudi 2013 Core Partners Convention held in Riyadh under the slogan “With Partnership Nothing is Impossible”.
The Convention included panels hosted by top Huawei KSA executives who spotlighted advancements within Saudi’s telecommunications landscape including plans for more robust training programs that would support future generations of Saudi ICT professionals. Opportunities within Saudi’s enterprise business market were also examined as attendees debated practical solutions for improving data security, leveraging “big data” intelligence, and simplifying cloud management solutions for small & medium-sized businesses.
Following the Convention workshops, Huawei KSA also hosted an awards ceremony recognizing companies within KSA who have made an extraordinary contribution to supporting the Kingdom’s ICT industry over the past year.
“Today we have key clients based on long-term business relationships, and through Huawei’s expansion in the Middle East region and especially KSA, we remain committed to providing the world’s latest technology with the highest quality to the local market,” comments Mr. Ding Ailong, COO of Huawei KSA.
As one of the world’s largest ICT companies today, Huawei KSA has had a long-time presence within Saudi Arabia including providing local companies with integrated telecom network solutions, consumer devices and enterprise technology solutions.
“Saudi Arabia’s information and communications technology market continues to grow at a rapid pace with local consumers and businesses now able to experience some of the most advanced services available anywhere in the world,” notes Mr. Mr. Zhang Kui, General Manager of Huawei KSA. “Last year was a tough year for the industry with a complicated & highly competitive market environment, but with our partners’ support, Huawei KSA has achieved its expected business objectives.”
Some of Huawei KSA’s landmark projects within the Kingdom have included the deployment of 4G LTE mobile networks with all three of the country’s operators in 2011, as well as implementation of the Middle East’s first commercial Service Delivery Platform with Mobily in 2012. Today Huawei has three main offices within Saudi Arabia in addition to 20 technical assistance centers throughout the Kingdom.
The company’s latest Convention underscores Saudi Arabia’s strategic position as one of the largest ICT markets in the Middle East today. Analyst group BMI has recently projected Saudi Arabia’s IT spending to increase 6.6% to SAR 15.3bn in 2013, driven by a strong pipeline of major IT projects planned by the government and private enterprises.
