How to make a company a Great Place to Work?

Capital Club Dubai, the region's premier private business club and a member of the ENSHAA group of companies, will host a Business Lunch Forum on “Lessons from the best companies to work for in the UAE” on March 8, 2012.
The interactive session will feature Dr. Michael Burchel, a global thought leader on workplace strategy and co-author of “The Great Workplace,” along with Dr. Farrukh Kidwai, who has more than 20 years of experience in the development of great workplaces.
The Great Place to Work Institute, which recognises the best workplaces in over 45 countries worldwide, is the research and advisory firm that also prepares the annual list of the “100 Best Companies to Work for” in America for Fortune magazine.
The Institute recently stole the limelight across the region for recognising the best workplaces in the United Arab Emirates, releasing its inaugural list of “Top Companies to Work for in the UAE”. The official list, published in the January issue of Gulf Business magazine, was a ranking of the nation’s 10 best employers based on the confidential feedback of their staff and an independent culture audit of their HR practices by the Institute.
Dr Farrukh Kidwai, who joined Great Place to Work in the UAE in 2011 stood as a corporate “Operational Excellence” champion with W. L. Gore and Associates, Inc., a global manufacturing firm based in Newark, Delaware, USA, which has ranked in the top 100 companies in the United States each year since 1984.
The forum will be moderated by Dawn Metcalfe, the Managing Director of Performance Development Services, Dubai.
The Capital Club, in its ongoing series of Business Lunch Forums has hosted eminent speakers such as: UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, DIFC Chief Economist Dr. Nasser Saidi and Abdulla Mohammed Al Awar, the CEO of the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority, among others.
