Two top surgeons to visit HMC

Two top surgeons are visiting Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) as part of efforts to enable patients to benefit locally from the best specialists, without the need for traveling abroad. Hosting visiting physicians and surgeons also promotes exchange of expertise and continuing education for medical residents.

Dr. Thanos C. Badekas, a foot and ankle surgeon from Greece, will be visiting Hamad General Hospital (HGH) starting today until 17 May. He will be consulting with patients at the Outpatient Clinic (OPD Annex) today; on Tuesday, 15 May at 8:00am-3:00pm; and on Thursday, 17 May at 8:00am-1:00pm. Dr Badekas will also be involved in patient rounds, case discussion with residents and executive meetings, and will be conducting surgery.

Professor Michel Onimus, a scoliosis surgeon from France, will be visiting HGH on 13-25 June. He will be consulting with patients at the Outpatient Clinic on 14, 17, 19, 21 and 24 June from 8:00am, and will also be conducting surgery and patient rounds during his stay.

The two surgeons will be hosted by HMC’s Orthopedic Department.
