Luxor, the city famed for the legendary Valley of the Queens, gave competition winner Candice Valdes Isaac a taste of true royal luxury after she became winner of a spa competition organized by Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa.

Candice was crowned queen of Luxor after winning a ‘Create Your Own Spa Treatment’ competition on the hotel’s facebook page with her idea to become ‘Queen for an Hour’, using  ancient pampering ingredients such as rose oil, milk wash and almond oil to reflect the city’s illustrious heritage.  The competition prize included an all-inclusive, four-night stay at award-winning Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa and the opportunity to have the winning treatment featured in the hotel’s celebrated spa.

“Every woman should feel like a queen while at the spa,” said Candice Valdes Isaac, winner of the Facebook Spa Competition.  “That’s how I feel each time I treat myself to a massage.  I imagine myself as a queen with her maidens all helping to beautify her with the most exquisite ingredients, worthy only of true royalty.”

The ‘Queen for an Hour’ winning treatment starts with a relaxing milk wash, followed by a full body massage with skin softening almond oil with a rose-oil neck, face and head massage to complete the ultimate pampering session.

“The competition was a great success, with many hundreds of entries,” said Christoph Schlessing, general manager of Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa. “and highly appropriate that our winner created such a royal treatment in one of the most regal cities in the world. Candice’s winning treatment is now offered to all visitors to our spa,” added Schlessing.

The hotel recently started growing herbs in the garden within the grounds for use within the hotel restaurants as well as for treatments within the spa. A professional gardening team was commissioned to cultivate the soil and plant a range of herbs and flowers including marjoram, rosemary, thyme, lavender, lemon grass, mint, basil, artemisia sieberi, papyrus, Pine, dracaena, vinca flowers, gardenias, alentheras and chrysanthemums.
