Hilton Sharm Dreams Resort manager with over 20 years hospitality experience was recently honoured with the title General Manager of the Year by Hilton Worldwide, Egypt and Levant. Egyptian born Magdy Metwally, General Manager of Hilton Sharm Dreams Resort, picked up the coveted honour at a ceremony held recently in Cairo.  Metwally was presented with the annual award by Christian Grage, vice president, operations for Hilton Worldwide, Egypt & Levant, following an outstanding and consistent 12 months performance at the hotel.

“I would like to offer my warmest congratulations to Magdy for achieving remarkable results at Hilton Sharm Dreams Resort throughout 2012,” said Christian Grage. “The accolade is very well deserved and I am delighted to recognize Magdy’s efforts with one of our foremost annual awards.”

The General Manager of the Year Award was introduced by Hilton Worldwide three years ago to recognize and reward exceptional individual performance by general managers at the company’s 22 properties across Egypt & Levant.  The award is based on a range of stringent criteria including commercial achievements, property management, guest satisfaction, team member activities and performance, as well as the hotel’s reach into the local community.

Hilton Sharm Dreams Resort, for example, implemented a robust and dynamic community programme last year to mark Hilton Worldwide’s inaugural Global Week of Service – a staff volunteer event aimed at harnessing the goodwill and energy of team members to support local causes and charities.

“We truly believe that Hilton’s success as one of the world’s top hospitality providers is a reflection of our ability to attract and retain talented staff,” added Christian Grage. “Magdy and his team members have proved beyond doubt that working diligently and creatively brings real benefits to the hotel, our guests and to the local communities we serve.” Hilton Worldwide currently operates 22 properties in Egypt and Levant with a further nine properties in the development pipeline.
