Hamad Medical Corporation lines up healthy events to mark Qatar National Sports Day

The main venue will be Bayt Al Dhiyafah in Hamad bin Khalifa Medical City (HBKMC) where more than 1000 people will take part in activities including a walkathon, starting at 8 am from the Nurses Club and the very popular mini football tournament to be held at the Nurses Club.
Staff and their families as well as patients and visitors to Al Wakra and Al Khor Hospitals and The Cuban Hospital will take part in separate events being organized at the hospitals. Activities will be held from 7 am to 12 pm at Bayt Al Dhiyafah and across other locations.
The HMC Qatar National Sports Day Organizing Committee has also organized a full range of other healthy and fun activities (including sport training, basketball, handball and table tennis) in and around HBKMC. At the Kids’ Zone, more fun activities have been planned.
HMC is also joining Ministry of Public Health and Primary Health Care Corporation in Qatar National Sports Day events being held at Aspire Park. There will be a 1.5km walkathon which will start from near the Aspire Park Lake at 8 am as well as free basic health checks and other activities.
Ms. Shamma Abdulla Behair, Director of PR and Community Engagement at HMC’s Corporate Communications Department said Qatar National Sports Day highlights the country’s commitment to a healthy and productive population.

Qatar National Sports Day is organized every second Tuesday in February to encourage Qatar residents to get active and lead a healthy lifestyle.
