Al Habtoor Group discuss investments with Malaysian delegation

The Al Habtoor Group today welcomed His Highness Prince Tengku Sulaiman at the Al Habtoor Group head office on Al Wasl Road.
Mr Khalaf Al Habtoor, Chairman, Al Habtoor Group welcomed the delegation along with Sultan Al Habtoor, President, Al Habtoor Motors; Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice-Chairman and CEO, Al Habtoor Group; Paul Rayner, Advisor to the Chairman, Al Habtoor Group and Rashid Al Habtoor, President & CEO at Al Habtoor Trading Enterprises.
HH Prince Tengku Sulaiman, who is the younger brother of the Sultan of Selangor, was accompanied by a Malaysian delegation; Dato Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, Consul General of Malaysia in Dubai and members of the recently-established Malaysia-United Arab Emirates (UAE) Business Council including Dato Bill C.P. Ch’ng, President & CEO, Malaysia Pacific Corporation. The group discussed possible collaboration on projects in Malaysia and the UAE.
Khalaf Al Habtoor said, “I would like to encourage Malaysian businessmen to invest in the United Arab Emirates. Our economy is a safe haven and has recovered from the economic crisis. The West is still struggling to get out of the crisis, but we are back in business.”
He added, “You just need to look at the real estate sector in the UAE, which is flourishing again; and numerous construction projects are back. There are almost daily announcement about large scale projects in the UAE. Our airlines are growing considerably and people are flooding to the emirates. The UAE is an international hub, well-positioned between the West and East.”
The Malaysia-United Arab Emirates (UAE) Business Council was set up to complement the work of the International Trade and Industry Ministry, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation and other agencies in trade and investments. The council comprises of 12 members representing top companies in Malaysia – including two developers.
