Gulf Bank today proudly hailed its success in winning the ‘Bank of the Year’ award from The Banker, the world’s leading and most respected banking industry magazine. The award, which was made in recognition of the Bank's outstanding achievements over the past year, was presented to Michel Accad, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Bank, at The Banker’s annual awards gala dinner, held in London on the 28th November, 2012. The dinner, one of the key highlights of the banking  industry year, is attended by some of the world’s most senior bankers, executives, and other key figures in the financial and banking sectors.

Michel Accad, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Bank, said: “It is truly a great honor to receive this major award from The Banker and I would like to thank the awards committee for selecting Gulf Bank this year.

“This award is a recognition of the tremendous effort by the Bank’s management & staff to make Gulf Bank the best bank in Kuwait, and provide our valued customers with the best and the fastest personal banking services possible. The banking industry will become even more competitive in the future, and we intend to continue to lead from the front, putting innovation and customer service first, raising standards, and setting the benchmark for banking excellence across the region.”

"Gulf Bank’s customer oriented  strategy  is just one of the many reasons the Bank has won the 'Bank of the Year' award this year.  This  award underlines our enthusiasm and motivation to progress and will serve to help push Gulf Bank forward to further success in the coming years.”

The ‘Bank of the Year’ award is awarded by The Banker, the leading and highly respected banking industry publication owned by the Financial Times Group, which also publishes the Financial Times. The Banker Awards for the Middle East region, which are presented  annually, are hotly contended  and winners are generally accepted as setting the industry standards for banking excellence.
