Being appreciative for all his hard work over the past period, The Grand Hyatt Amman recently announced the departure of one of its favorite and expert members; Chef Daniele Macioce, who joined the hotel two years ago to undertake the launch of The Lombard restaurant; the go-to venue for an authentic modern Milanese lifestyle experience, that opened doors last March. 

Chef Daniele has shown so much dedication and perseverance to create the best menu an authentic Italian restaurant can offer, and he has been an integral part of The Lombard launch, that became the hottest outlet in the city of Amman due to the exquisitely delicious food, authentic Northern Italian food quality and menu variety. His style was famed to be traditional, focusing on authenticity of the flavors, and tapping into his vast knowledge of the forgotten traditional Lombardian dishes he learnt from the hands of his own mother. Daniele’s decision came timely with his wish to join his wife and daughters and finally reunite with his family in India, especially after the unprecedented times that the world faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. With that being said, the hotel management supported his decision to reunite with his family and offered him the emotional support that was long needed. 

While his plan is to conclude his services in September, Daniele is very much committed to a proper and smooth handover to the talented Italian Chef Federico Carsili, who recently joined The Lombard restaurant for this transition period before he is officially appointed as the Chef of this unique outlet at the hotel, bringing along his utmost culinary skills. Chef Carsili comes with 22 years of experience in Kitchen Management and Culinary, with a focus on the delicious Italian cuisine, which not only reflects his origins, but also the dishes that have passed on through many generations. Chef Carsili has worked at top notch restaurants and five-star hotels in China, Doha, Romania, and Italy. 

Mr. Fabian Amici, The Restaurant Manager, stated: “It has been a pleasure having Chef Daniele’s professional touches for the launch of The Lombard, and getting his marvelous culinary experience to create our special menu. We, at The Grand Hyatt Amman, work to make our staff become the best they can be, and we are happy that Daniele has witnessed the launch of The Lombard. Although we are sad to see Chef Daniele move onto a new chapter in his life after 2 years of hard work, we fully respect and support his decision to reunite with his family after their long separation, in the hopes that we will cross paths again. We wish him all the best and know that family is what matters the most.” He added: “We are also happy to welcome our new skillful Chef Federico Carsili on board, who is bringing his great and upscale culinary expertise, so that we continue to offer the best Italian food in town and an exclusive dining experience. We wish both chefs the best of luck on their new journeys. With that being said, we look forward to discovering what this exciting year will bring when working with the new Chef Carsili”.  

It is worth noting that The Lombard opened doors last March 2021, replacing the once loved L’incontro at The Grand Hyatt Amman. It promises to bring to Italian cuisine lovers in Amman a truly authentic Italian experience, old-world charm, and a celebration of art, culture, food, and a good life. The Lombard experience encompasses utterly delicious Milanese cooking, regional Italian and selected wines, a classic bar collection of vermouth inspired cocktails, and old-school Aperitivo, all within an Italian old-world ambiance with 30s big band jazz playing vibrantly in the background.
