Giving More Support for Ramadan With Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana
In the year of giving for who needs it the most and to enhance the Ramadan spirit and its aspects of giving and caring for the suffering, the Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana, supported the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in giving joy to children suffering from thalassemia.
This selfless action aims to remember, during the holy month of Ramadan, that some actions can support whoever deserves it the most, even on the emotional plan. Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana colleagues’ team gave tribute to these strong young fighters, educational games, for girls and boys as presents at the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), suffering a severe stage of the thalassemia disease.
“It was a deep emotional interaction with the kids. Being a mother myself, I find important to give support, even at a psychological level, to children who have different lives than other kids. We are very committed at our property to contribute to the wellbeing of families and we know how hard it can be for the less fortunate.” said Eleni Tsolakou, General Manager at Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana.
“Psychological support plays a decisive role in patents’ minds. Curing them physically is sometimes not sufficient. Our team thanks Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana management and team for giving their time and moral support along with the presents they brought for the kids we cure. Ramadan started very positively with this “raising consciousness” action.” said Doc. Aref Al Shehhi, Acting CEO at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC).
Thalassemia is an abnormal production of haemoglobin resulted through an inherited blood disorders. Though, the symptoms may vary significantly from none to severe. Blood transfusions, iron chelation and folic acid (Vitamin B9), are so far the treatments developed to help people living with the illness.
All the best wishes of recovery may accompany these young souls and all people around the world, suffering from such health issues. May god bless you, all year long and during Ramadan.
The charity events at Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana will remain part of the CSR activities as many more. For more information http://roho.it/sgyg.
