Students interested in the International Executive Master’s in Emergency & Disaster Management (IEDM) degree offered by Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies will be able to learn more about the application process at an upcoming workshop. The workshop, which will be held on Monday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Georgetown University in Qatar, will provide an overview of the requirements and allow future students to find out more about the degree.

The IEDM is a unique one year master’s degree that aims to enable the next generation of emergency and disaster management professionals to face the challenges of a global future. Through a combination of online learning and on-site residencies in Amman, Doha, Muscat, Paris and Washington, D.C., the program equips students to lead in the face of a diverse range of natural and manmade events. Students tackle topics such as public health and humanitarian crises, natural disasters, cyber-attacks, and coordinating preparedness, response, and recovery efforts across international borders.

“This degree is an exciting opportunity for professionals in Qatar and beyond to grow their skills in emergency preparedness, threat mitigation, and the management of response and recovery efforts,” said IEDM Program Coordinator Asala Al Jalabi. “We hope interested students will take advantage of this workshop as we are rapidly approaching the application deadline.”

The hands-on workshop will help students prepare their applications, give detailed guidance on the supporting documentation and information required, and answer any questions on the process. The final application deadline for the IEDM degree is June 3, 2018 and classes begin in the fall. Interested applicants can learn more on the website: scs.georgetown.edu/iedm.
