Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) has opened registration for their Fall 2019 Community Classes, offering the public a chance to expand their knowledge in a critical field, engage in discussions on topics of interest, and experience the vibrant Education City community of learners.

With courses taught by leading experts and recognized academics and researchers, GU-Q Community Classes combine introductory course formats with the quality of university level instruction for a unique learning opportunity designed to fit the needs and schedules of working professionals. “Community Classes at GU-Q are very engaging, and the teachers have a lot of experience and are fun to talk to,” explains former program participant, Dana Mahmoud.

The program is comprised of two-hour courses held weekly on the campus of GU-Q from October 27 through November 20th, and conveniently scheduled from 6:30pm until 8:30pm in the evening. There are 11 different courses to choose from, and sessions include both Arabic and English language options.

This year’s courses cover a range of topics, including Doha’s urban growth, formal spoken Arabic, large-scale event organization, an introduction to emergency and disaster management, strategic communications and public relations, and co-active coaching for a balanced and successful life.

“This course is fantastic because it allows us to focus on things that we overlook or don’t have the time to stop and think about because life is running so fast,” said Dr. Amin Joutei, a previous student of the co-active coaching course, offered in Arabic. “I wish the course could be longer to learn even more about ourselves. It is a wonderful tool for self-development and growth.”

GU-Q is offering early bird savings for class registration before October 13th. The classes are open to participants over the age of 18, and no previous qualification or degree is required. Course enrollment and attendance will earn a certificate of completion. More information about the Community Classes is available online at http://qatar.georgetown.edu/cc
