First half retail sales for Ford, Lincoln vehicles rise 10% in Bahrain
Ford is all revved up in Bahrain with retail sales registering a 10 percent increase during the first half of the year versus 2011 brought by increasing demand for the new Ford and Lincoln products.
Overall retail sales across the Ford and Lincoln lineups in the GCC soared 12 percent driven by strong performances from the Ford Fusion, Taurus, Edge, Expedition and Flex models.
“We are very pleased with the growing demand that our models are seeing across our dealerships in the region," said Larry Prein, Ford Middle East’s managing director. "The momentum continues at an encouraging level and we are confident that this will continue as we introduce our 2013 models such as the newly refreshed Taurus, Edge, Explorer and Flex, with the start of Ramadan."
Ford’s retail sales have also done significantly well in each of the other GCC markets. In Oman, sales more than doubled while Qatar saw a 56 percent growth and UAE saw a 38 percent rise. First half retail sales in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain both rose by 10 per cent while Kuwait moved at a constant pace.
The positive news continues even on the global scene as Ford Motor Company’s year-to-date U.S. sales through June increased 7 percent, totaling 1.14 million vehicles. Strong consumer confidence resulted to better than ever performances from some of Ford’s best-loved marques. Ford Escape sales for the month of June grew 28 percent – the vehicle’s best month ever while
Ford Fusion sales in June rose 17 percent – its best June sales performance ever. Ford F-Series sales reached the 50,000 mark – the best June sales performance in five years, with 55,025 pickups sold.
