Reflecting on the airline’s achievements in 2023, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, said: “this year has been another incredible year full of opportunity and further growth for flydubai. The strong foundations we have developed were reflected in yet another strong financial performance as we announced a record profit for 2022. This exceptional performance demonstrated what we can achieve and raised the bar even higher for 2023.”

The past 12 months have been punctuated by several milestones. Here is our 2023 in numbers:

2	flydubai operates flights from both Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB).
3	flydubai has entered into two new codeshare agreements with Air Canada and United Airlines in 2023, joining its ongoing strategic partnership with Emirates. These partnerships provide passengers with seamless connectivity to explore the region and beyond.
4	flydubai received four industry recognitions in 2023, reflecting the growth and maturity of the airline’s business model: Awarded “Airline of the Year” at the Aviator Middle East Awards Received a “Four-Star Major Airline” rating by APEX Recognised at the 22nd edition of the Business Traveller Middle East Awards Received the “Resilience Award”, a Cargo Industry Award, at the Aviation Achievement Awards
4	flydubai placed its fourth aircraft order since it was founded in 2008; building on the success of its business model.
4.5	flydubai carried more than 4.5 million passengers to travel across its network this summer, a 30% increase compared to 2022.
13	13 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft joined flydubai’s fleet in 2023.
14	flydubai celebrated 14 years of operations from its home in Dubai.
17	flydubai inaugurated and relaunched flights to 17 destinations this year including: Ashgabat, Cairo Sphinx, Corfu (seasonal), Kabul, Krabi, Milan, Mogadishu, Neom, Olbia (seasonal), Pattaya, Poznan, Shymkent and St. Petersburg.
29	flydubai operates 29 Next-Generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft in its growing fleet of Boeing 737s.
30	flydubai placed a USD 11 billion order for 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The Dubai-based carrier placed its first wide-body order for 30 Boeing 787-9s at the Dubai Airshow, diversifying its current fleet of all-Boeing 737 aircraft.
54	flydubai operates flights to 54 countries within a seven-hour flight radius.
55	flydubai operates 55 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in its growing fleet of Boeing 737s.
56	flydubai signed a deal with CAE and announced its plans to open a USD 56 million Full-Flight Simulator and Training Facility that is set to open by 2025.
75	flydubai opened up routes to 75 previously underserved markets, that did not have direct air links to and from Dubai.
84	flydubai operates a young and efficient single fleet-type of 84 Boeing 737 aircraft.

190	flydubai announced its plans for a USD 190 million MRO facility in Dubai South. The first purpose-built Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility is set to open by 2026.
