A number of Etihad Aviation Group staff went on a tour of Qasr Al Watan (Nation’s Palace) in Abu Dhabi as part of Etihad’s weeklong celebrations of 48th UAE National Day.

The tour was designed to educate staff about UAE heritage, architecture and culture, and how they reflect the spirit of tolerance and diversity in the UAE community.

Ahmed Al Qubaisi, Senior Vice President Government, International & Communications, Etihad Aviation Group, said: “We are pleased to host a variety of activities and events to mark UAE National Day, including this visit which is inspired by our celebration themes this year: UAE heritage, tolerance and acceptance. It reflects our commitment to provide learning experiences about the history and legacy of the UAE to our staff, who hail from as many as 150 countries.

This tour provides a good opportunity for our staff to learn more about the UAE, Arab and humankind civilisation, especially it takes place in Qasr Al Watan, a key cultural and heritage attraction in the UAE and wider Middle East, which presents a wealth of knowledge about our history and heritage and showcases Arab contributions to the pursuit of knowledge and human civilisation, with one-of-a-kind manuscripts, including rare copies of the three main holy books. Our staff from many nationalities showed strong interest to join the tour, reflecting their passion to find out more about the Emirati traditional way of life.”

The tour comes as part of Etihad’s extensive programme to celebrate 48th UAE National Day at its Head Office.

Qasr Al Watan opened its doors to the public in March as a unique cultural landmark. It takes the visitors through a journey between the past and present of the UAE, providing a new bridge for knowledge and cultural communication between people. It features many traditional artefacts and manuscripts about the UAE and Arab contributions in many fields such as science, art and literature
